It sounds like you haven't given the marriage much of a chance. You should put the money into counseling, rather than a divorce attorney. If you must have a divorce now, it'll cost you $3-5k if you hire an attorney and $200-500+ if you file pro se.
It depends on how much your soon to be ex fights for things. If you can both be civil, and just agree it doesn't work, then it's not too expensive. Call around and see what the cheapest you can find a lawyer to write the paperwork for. Then you just have to pay the filing fee with the court. In my state, it's less than $100.
