i'm a dad to a 7yr old son matt who is my life.i have joint custody with my exwife and we split our time with him 50/50.my question is how much contact(email, phone calls ect) do you have with your ex?the problem is my ex hates my new wife(for no good reason) and which in turns makes my new wife want me to have nothing to do with her except for real emergencies about my son.please i don't want anyone to tell me how to deal with my wife or exwife.Divorced dad needs advice from other divorced parents how much contact do u have with your exwife?
unless you want another divorce the new wife wins.Divorced dad needs advice from other divorced parents how much contact do u have with your exwife?
No good reason? Wake up, jack! You are abusive to both. You wanted a new life? Deal with it. Get iin touch with your son through friends or inlaws and give everyone peace.
My ex and I have very minimal contact and we have a 6 yr old together. I am married again and he is not. I see no reason to contact him unless there is a change of plans or I inform him about a teacher conference, etc. We are civil and to be quite honest, I forget all about him until he picks/drops off our child or calls her. My husband has no probelm with that.
Hire somebody to kill your ***** of an ex wife.
just to talk about your child thats ok but don't let her use you to cause your new wife to divorce you
My ex husband and I had more contact where the kids were concerned until he and his girlfriend became engaged, and now it seems like she don't think we should have anything left to talk about. He has became quite rude here lately and it drives my current BF up the wall the way the ex disrespects me all the time. But I just chalk it up to her being insecure about everything and not trusting him (she is the reason we are no longer together so I guess maybe she don't trust him to be faith full... Karma baby). Does you ex wife believe that your current wife is the reason for the divorce if she does that could have alot to do with her feelings toward her, I chose to take the high road and just let it go cause it wasn't gonna benefit my kids to have so much resentment towards the other person in their life now (everything should be for the kids and their well state of mind). Best of luck with your situation and hope that things will work out for you.
I have minimal contact with my ex since we just seem to annoy the hell out of each other.
I went through a bad divorce with my ex wife because of her infidelity. We have joint custody so our kids would spend equal time with me and her.It wasn't a bed of roses having to deal with her so I decided to cut contact with her completely.I had to do alot more hands on with the kids school work and other activities. It was really hard to keep up with everything but it was completely worth it just so I didn't have to deal with all her crap.I still get text messages from her after six years of divorce but I choose not to respond because I know what it will lead to.I wish she would get lost or something.
Me and my ex-husband have a 13 yr old son but have been divorced for 10 yrs im remarried and he is also and for my son we have all gotten alone. My husbands wife and i are really good friends and she takes good care of our son when they have him and can get him any time they want to..We are all so happy..good luck!!!
i have no contact with her, none at all, no phone or email or visit, nothing, my daughter lives with me and my ex hasn't been around for years
At the present moment - I don't have much dealing with my ex. However, there are times when you have alot of interaction with them. You have children, therefore you need to get along and work with each other for the sake of the child/ren. I agree, no one needs to tell you how to deal with an ex. Its your decision entirely. She knew that going into your relationship.
The ONLY reason to be in touch with your ex-wife should be to handle issues about your son. That's it. Your only concern is you new family. What ever it takes to make your new family strong you should do. It's not important that your ex hates you new wife. Trust me, I'm in the same situation as your new wife. I've not just been there, I'm there.
When I was married before, my DH didn't like me talking w/ my ex at all about our kids. He was very jealous. I kept it to a minimum and only things having to do with the kids.
My DH's ex-wife didn't want me in the picture at all and hated me for no good reason. Crazy report you to Child Protective Services level of hate. He also kept it to the bare minimums, but she frequently pushed the issue.
I think in this case, you are still obligated to keep lines of communication open with your ex for the sake of your son and being a part of his life. You have a right to participate in school activities, parent/teacher conferences, report cards, sports and such. Your wife really is gonna have to understand this in order for you to remain an integral part of your boy's life. If you never talk w/ your ex, how will you know when his baseball games are? Of course, sitting chit chatting about the weather with the ex won't fly...
Good luck! You're gonna need it!
