Best advice for divorcing women?

my husband says he wants an amicable divorce and so do I. He makes alot more money than I do, but he wants a 50/50 splitBest advice for divorcing women?
Well most states require you to split your assets, debts, etc. 50/50, so him wanting it really has nothing to do with it. Why he wants an amicable split is so that you don't go after more money, or alimony. Since he makes more money, you are technically eligible for alimony. He is hoping the 50/50 split, whatever that means to him, will stop you from asking for it.

If you truly need alimony to get back on your feet after this divorce, then ask for it. But if you can do without, then I suggest you avoid it. It will make things difficult especially if he fights it... he cannot fight court ordered alimony but it will no longer be an amicable split, that's for sure.Best advice for divorcing women?
I did a 50/50 with mine and he made more than me. I got the child though, primary custody. If you want it amicable and can live without some of the stuff, then just do it that way. It is so much easier than fighting it out in court. But..just beware, it really never is as amicable as you want it to be...but doing it yourself and leaving the lawyers out of it will make it a whole lot closer! Good luck.
Whatever you both agree on...

But i can see how you may not want it.

In this case you will just have to explain him that you dont believe this is yours, and you dot feel comfortable taking it.
My soon to be ex and I are going through an amicable divorce, and both of us have lawyers. Wouldn't do it without someone to look over all the legal papers.
Sounds like you already have it figured out then.

50/50 is fair and amicable...
sounds like you are already at peace with this. You can't be any fairer that 50/50.
That will happen here in Michigan and most states no matter what. If kids are involved they judge gives you SUPPORT.
If you are willing so be it. If not, get an attorney.
