Divorced dad needs advice from other divorced parents how much contact do u have with your exwife?

i'm a dad to a 7yr old son matt who is my life.i have joint custody with my exwife and we split our time with him 50/50.my question is how much contact(email, phone calls ect) do you have with your ex?the problem is my ex hates my new wife(for no good reason) and which in turns makes my new wife want me to have nothing to do with her except for real emergencies about my son.please i don't want anyone to tell me how to deal with my wife or exwife.Divorced dad needs advice from other divorced parents how much contact do u have with your exwife?
I'm the daughter of divorced parents and they are friendly to eachother for my sake but unless I'm around or they are discussing my arrangements or child support they don't really talk. But I guess it depends. It kinda sounds like your ex may be jealous of your new wife or is holding a grudge so it is totally up to how comfortable you feel talking to her and if your new wife will be comfortable with you talking to her. Good luck.Divorced dad needs advice from other divorced parents how much contact do u have with your exwife?
You only need to talk to your ex about the kids. There's no reason to call to socialize with you. Be cordial of course, but keep the conversations short and to the point. Your ex probably hates your new wife because she is with you.
you and many fathers go throught the same problem,,,there has to be respect among each other, the child or children need both parents. If and when the children feel the need to talk to either parent then there should no problem, but there has to be dicipline,to many phone calls could couse friction to both partys,, the child is not aware of this, all they know is they want to talk to mom or dad.also by the children calling to much it could make the stepdad or mom angry, usually this anger if surficed because of jealousy.its very difficult for both partys especially with the ones that blaime one or the other for what happen,,but if both parents are mature enough they will set aside their differences and do what is best for the child.my brother went through that and know he and his ex are the best of friends, and they also have 50/50 joint custody.if a relationship did not work, its not the end of the world, just the end of a learning experiance that one takes the good and the bad that both shared.there is no reason why any one on this earth should be unhappy and not look for happyness elswhere, i know not many people share my point of view,, but ask you this question, would you like to keep on living being angry at your ex and going throught hell just thinking about it?make peace and even if both are appart, make the best of it and enjoy the growing up of you son, life is to short to be doing anything else.best of luck.
